Ranger Paul O’Neill was on his usual trek in Nitmiluk national park in Australia when he stumbled across this massive python feeding on a wallaby joey.
A bit smaller than a kangaroo, this wallaby was a nice meal for the 2.5-metre serpent. O’Neill, snapped several pictures of the python coiling around the wallaby before starting the process of devouring the beast.
According to the ranger, the constrictor took about 30 minutes to polish off the full-sized wallaby.
After a meal like this, the snake won’t really need to eat much for the next several weeks.
Apparently the wallaby population in Australia has been climbing and the state governments have been ordering culling to lower their numbers.
It would seem this python is eager to help out.
