This is quite possibly the nerdiest and most awesome thing ever.
YouTuber and speedrunner SethBling just set a new world record for Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo by using a glitch called the “Credits Warp” that allowed him to reach the game’s credits in just under 5 minutes. In a nutshell, he effectively hacks the console without any tools or emulators by placing various objects in exact locations on level one that let him to write new code into the console’s memory and run the end credits. There is much more to it than that, so here are the notes on this glitch.
Long story short, he ‘completed’ Super Mario World and set a new world record for a non-emulator session.
